UK Crowdfunding is Growing

May 22, 2014

The UK crowdfunding market may be small in global terms, but it’s growing fast and bringing with it a significant economic shot in the arm to Britain.

Entrepreneurs, charities and businesses are increasingly looking for new ways to find funding and for new opportunities to invest in new and innovative enterprises.

Recent figures show rewards and equity funding gaining more and more momentum, with the first three months of 2014 showing startling growth of more than 160% that’s contributed more than £9 million to the UK economy.

I’m interested to see how it’s used by ecommerce companies to fund product development and launch new initiatives.

There’s more information and stats on UK crowdfunding over at CrowdShed (a startup i’m involved with).

Thanks
James
